About

Urs Bachofner was born in 1969 and raised in the german part of Switzerland. Currently he lives in Schaffhausen and Berlin. After a scientific education he approached photography autodidactically and worked as a freelance photojournalist for different swiss newspapers.

From 1989 to 1992 he lived in Dresden, Germany. At that time he worked intensively in Eastern Europe. One year in Turkey followed. At the end of the nineties he started working as a journalist and cameraman for the television business in Switzerland.

For the last 5 years he produced two different Travel Magazins for Swiss National Television, all over the world.

In 2010 he returned to his old passion and works as a freelance photojournalist.. The fascination is what happens with people in this new world. He's interested in a reduced view behind the things. 

He likes to work all over the world, mainly in Asia.
